I was born and raised in Newfoundland and I try to uphold our reputation of being kind-hearted, generous people who love to laugh. Outside of the therapy office I like to spend my time in nature, trying new art mediums and taking way too many pictures of my cat.
In my counselling practice I try to take a holistic approach to healing. I am a Complex-PTSD certified therapist which means I use a combination of tools to help you feel more comfortable in your mind and your body. I use parts work to help you develop a better understanding of yourself with the lens of self compassion and curiosity.
My goal in therapy is to help you live a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. There are so many things in life that can take us further and further from ourselves. Being the "helper" but realizing you dont know how to help yourself, growing up with an emotionally immature parent and now struggling to set boundaries, grieving a loss with no idea how to process those emotions. Whatever is causing you to feel like you're just treading water in life with no direction, therapy can help you regain control.
After completing my undergraduate degree in psychology I received a post graduate certificate in Victimology. I then went on to complete my Masters in Counselling Psychology.
Since completing my masters I became a C-PTSD certified counsellor as well as completing courses in Internal Family Systems and Acceptance & Commitment therapy.
